Be Inspired and Motivated with Project Home
Posted in Project Home 2013 on Jan. 30, 2013
It’s that time of year…we are emerging from winter and ready to freshen up our homes for spring. And to help inspire and motivate, we are launching Project Home. Starting in February we are running a three-month series of home-themed challenges, contests and articles.
Here’s what you can expect each month—make sure to check back often for updates.
February – Your Home Improvement Options
Get inspired at the Seattle Home Show February 16-24 at CenturyLink Field Event Center. You’ll find a variety of ideas at different price points for adding a room, updating the kitchen, repairing the roof, and more. But, finding the funds to cover the expenses can be a challenge—that’s why we want to share some options that could help you.
Home Equity Line of Credit
Once approved, withdraw funds whenever you need without reapplying and you can lock in rates with the fixed rate advance option.
Home Equity Loan
Fixed rate loan where funds are disbursed in a one lump sum, a good choice for those one-time expenses that don’t require additional funds later.
Home Improvement Loan
Without borrowing against the equity in your home—this is a fixed rate personal loan where funds are in one lump sum to finance home repairs.
We are offering two for one tickets and free parking. You’ll also have a chance to win a Green Egg while at the Home Show.
Aqua Quip and BECU are teaming up with Habitat for Humanity for a Swim for Charity Event at the Seattle Home Show. Participants can sign up to swim for up to 1 hour in a Hydropool AquaTrainer Swim Spa. Seattle Home Show, BECU and Aqua Quip will make a combined donation of $5 per minute that each participant is able to swim. If a participant swims for more than 30 minutes, then the combined donation will be $10 per minute.
March – Do It Yourself
Whether you are a novice or experienced DIYer, you may be able to save some dollars when you take on your next home project yourself. And, in March we are going to share money-saving projects that may inspire you to do it yourself.

April – Go Green at Home
Going green at home is not only good for the environment but can save you money over the life of your home. In April, we are going to share some green-friendly home improvements that you can do around your home—such as adding a tankless water heater, dual pane windows, eco-friendly wood floors, paint with low volatile organic compounds (VOC) and more. There’s so much we can do at home to help reduce our own carbon footprint.
